Stop Racism and Intolerance!

Have you ever thought that why this world is beautiful? It’s because of the diversity. We see different people who have different norms, cultures, religions, ethnicities. And this change makes them beautiful. Without diversity, this world will be a boring place. But this diversity comes at a great price. The Human being is intolerant. They want others to follow them. So many wars are seen in history just due to these conflicts. In the modern era, people try to solve these conflicts by negotiation but there is still a lot of work to do.

Intolerant and racist behaviors are not just confined to one society. They are everywhere around the world. People kill each other just because of little religious or ethnic conflicts. Even the 1st world countries could not solve these problems. We have the consequences of such a case in the form of the George Floyd case in the US. Police killed a man just because his skin color was black and even he is a criminal then he should deserve medical support when he was screaming for it. In New Zealand, a white man killed many people in the mosque just because he doesn’t like them. Kashmir is facing the worst curfew just because of geographical and territorial conflicts. Shia-Sunni conflict in creating chaos and war in the middle east for many decades. Europe is facing white supremacy conflicts for a long time. So every single day when we turn on our news channel there is news about this. Sometimes the news creates hype and comes to the mainstream and sometimes it is just printed in the inner pages of any local newspaper.

This hatred mainly starts from family when a child sees his/her parents hating a specific culture or religion without any strong logic. A young mind growing in such an environment will question his/her parents. Parents do not have sufficient logic to answer their questions so they shut him up by being angry at him. Then for the whole life, this idea is imprinted in their young minds and they will live with it even without questioning it. I will put two examples here one is white supremacy and the second one is a man shot dead in the courtroom in Peshawar Pakistan in blasphemy allegations. In the United States of America, white supremacy is something which is the biggest conflict between native black Americans and white people. Black people are thought of as lesser humans just because of their skin color and look. In jobs education and political rights, they always face discrimination just because their skin color is black which is the worst thing. So indolence against black people increased generation after generations. Even the law does not allow it but the mentality of people needs more centuries to evolve. In Pakistan religious intolerance is at the peak. Recently a man shot dead in a courtroom during a hearing of a blasphemy case. And there is a huge number of people who support the murderer. Here I’m not saying that it was right or wrong but it is about intolerance. When a proper law is there then there is not the right of an individual to take the law in hands and perform these cruel acts.

Now the main question is what is the solution? Humans can evolve and grow their mindsets. So education is the very primary tool to solve these issues. In the schools, there should be clubs and societies which groom the student’s negotiation skills. Debates should be held at the school level so the student should be able to understand the importance of communications. The Second important thing is literature because books represent a culture. Books with hate speech and promoting violence should be banned. Media also plays an important role because in this era I have observed that media is promoting violence to some extent and especially social media. There is some time fake news on social media which can be sentimental for a specific ethnicity so one should avoid posting and spreading such content.

In the end, I just want to conclude the parents should take special take care in this regard so that this ethnic or religious hatred could not build in their children. A peaceful world is what we want for the next generations; they can live a sustainable and prosperous life. Before killing anyone a person should think that there are hundreds and thousands of galaxies in the space and we, the human being is just on planet earth so each one of us is unique. So at least that person deserves a chance to live because after killing that person you are not going to find the same as him/her.
